EXECUTIVE COACH + STRATEGIC ADVISOR FOR CITY-BUILDERS AND CIVIC LEADERS
You got into this work because the mission matters. The question is whether the way you're leading it is working for you.
My work starts with the leader at the center and moves outward: getting clear on what matters, how you want to lead, what choices are available to you, and how to bring the people and the work into alignment.
What Brings Leaders Here
My clients and I share something in common: a passion for how our work can shape cities and communities.
But the moments that bring people to me vary. They may be stepping into bigger leadership, reshaping how a team works, at a crossroads about what comes next, or realizing they can't keep leading the way they have been.
Underneath those different moments, I often find a willingness to question some of the rules we've inherited about what commitment looks like: constant availability, pushing hard, taking on more.
Those rules aren't irrational—they come from wanting the work to matter. But mission makes them louder. When the work is meaningful, doing more can feel like caring more. And when people have had to prove they belong, overperforming can start to feel like the price of admission.
The result can be cultures that quietly work against the very strategy they're trying to advance.
I work with leaders and organizations ready to question those rules—and build something different.
WHAT IF THE WORK ISN'T JUST PRODUCING RESULTS, BUT BUILDING THE CONDITIONS THAT MAKE THOSE RESULTS LAST?
Hi, I'm Natalie Shieh

For two decades I worked inside the systems my clients are navigating - leading major city-building initiatives, shaping policy, and aligning $1.4B in public and private investment across Philadelphia and beyond.
I know these systems from the inside: what it takes to get ambitious work done, how quickly extraordinary effort can become normal, and how easy it is to stop questioning what the work seems to require.
My work today comes from both sides of that experience - leading ambitious, mission-driven work and learning to question some of the rules I had absorbed along the way.

"Natalie gets to the root of your 'why' and carves a path to fulfillment that's not only tied to your business objectives but aligns with what you value most. Her ability to create both a safe space and structure fosters a sense of momentum and possibility. If you're feeling like you or your team are ready for your next chapter or have been striving for something and simply cannot break through, sign up. It's powerful stuff."
Jennifer Marchek, Principal Air Quality Engineer, Terraphase
"Natalie's superpower is her ability to listen deeply, synthesize diverse perspectives, and identify common themes that unite a group. She has a unique talent for gathering ideas, processing them in real time, and transforming them into clear, actionable next steps."
